On 27 May, the Mozambique-Italy Business Forum on infrastructure and construction was presented at a press conference in Maputo. The event is scheduled for 8–9 June in the Mozambican capital.

The Forum is organised by the Embassy of Italy in Maputo, the ICE/ITA Office in Maputo, and the Italy-Mozambique Chamber of Commerce. The press conference brought together Italian Ambassador Gabriele Annis, President of the Italy-Mozambique Chamber of Commerce Simone Santi, and ICE Director Giancarlo Albano.

Italy will send a delegation of 21 companies — with a combined turnover exceeding €17 billion in 2025 — alongside representatives of the main sectoral associations. The Forum follows the 2025 business mission dedicated to agriculture, led by Minister Francesco Lollobrigida.

Key topics on the agenda include logistics corridors, dams, urban regeneration, critical minerals extraction, and infrastructure technologies. The opening session will feature Mozambican Minister of Transport and Logistics João Matlombe, while Minister of Agriculture, Environment and Fisheries Roberto Albino will close the proceedings.

“Mozambique and Italy are strategic partners with complementary economies,” said Ambassador Gabriele Annis. “Italy brings strong industrial and technological capacity; Mozambique has mineral, agricultural and energy resources that call for greater industrialisation. This Forum is not merely a meeting place for business people: it is a concrete step towards lasting economic cooperation, capable of generating development, employment and knowledge transfer for the benefit of both countries.”
