The Italian Embassy in Maputo is responsible for Mozambique, Eswatini and Botswana and maintains official relations with their respective governments. Its main tasks include the protection of the interests of Italy and its citizens and the development of political, economic, social and cultural relations with these three countries.
The Embassy has coordination functions over the other Italian Offices present in the territory of its competence (the Maputo headquarters of the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation, the ICE Office, the Honorary Consulate in Mbabane, Eswatini and the Honorary Vice-Consulate in Gaborone, Botswana, the Dante Alighieri Association in Maputo, the “Giovanni Falcone” Italian School in Maputo).
Finally, the Embassy supervises the work of the VFS Global company based in Maputo, responsible for receiving requests for entry visas for Italy and requests for legalization of documents.
