Italian Cooperation has approved a new emergency contribution worth 34 million meticais (450,000 euros) to the World Food Programme (WFP), in support of humanitarian assistance activities responding to the crises caused by terrorist violence in Nampula Province — which has led to thousands of displaced persons — and by the recent floods affecting Mozambique.

The funding will help strengthen assistance to affected populations, ensuring immediate support to the most vulnerable communities.

Through this intervention, Italy reaffirms its commitment alongside Mozambique and the United Nations to delivering a rapid and effective response to humanitarian emergencies, supporting affected populations and strengthening the resilience of communities most exposed to both terrorism and the impacts of climate change.
