The mission provided an opportunity to strengthen dialogue with local authorities and explore opportunities for cooperation and investment.<\/p>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">Ambassador Annis met with the Governor of Tete Province, Domingos Viola. The meeting provided an opportunity to discuss cooperation between Italy and the Province, both in relation to ongoing initiatives and from a future perspective, and to identify opportunities to further strengthen cooperation in various areas of common interest, from energy to agriculture, infrastructure and the creative economy.<\/p>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">The programme continued with a visit to Casa das Mulheres, in the community of Nkondezi, where the delegation had the opportunity to learn more about the activities of the PIANU (Integrated Agriculture and Nutrition Project), financed by AICS and implemented by the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP), in partnership with the Government of Mozambique. The visit provided an opportunity to explore the contribution of these interventions to strengthening food security, local capacities and community resilience.<\/p>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">On 7 October, the Ambassador met with the leadership of the Zambezi Valley Development Agency to discuss possible synergies in support of investment and economic development, with particular reference to the Beira Corridor. The delegation also visited the Cahora Bassa Hydroelectric Power Station (HCB), where it met with President Tom\u00e1s Matola. Discussions focused on the prospects of the energy sector, opportunities for cooperation with Italian companies and the potential of the Mphanda Nkuwa project. The talks addressed the strategic role of the facility within Mozambique\u2019s and the region\u2019s energy system, the prospects for the development of the sector and opportunities for cooperation with Italian businesses.<\/p>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">The mission concluded with Italy\u2019s participation in the Tete Province International Investment Conference (CIIT 2026), inaugurated by the President of the Republic of Mozambique, Daniel Chapo, and in the national ceremony of the Pr\u00e9mio Jovem Criativo, an initiative dedicated to promoting creativity, innovation and youth entrepreneurship.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cTete is a territory of great importance for the future of Mozambique, thanks to its resources, energy potential and investment opportunities. Italy supports the development of the country in all its Provinces, and Tete could not be an exception.
