Gabriele Annis, Ambassador of Italy in Maputo<\/strong><\/p>\n

Born in Oristano on 28 July 1969, after graduating in Law from the University of Bologna, he obtained a Master of Science Degree in International Relations from the University of Bristol, United Kingdom, in 1997. Following a competitive examination, on 30 December 1999 he entered the Diplomatic Career.<\/p>\n

After an initial assignment at the Press and Information Service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in 2002 he was appointed Consul in Belo Horizonte.<\/p>\n

In 2006 he was appointed First Secretary at the Italian Embassy in New Delhi.<\/p>\n

In 2010 he returned to Rome to serve at the Directorate General for Resources and Innovation of the Ministry, at the Unit for Trade Union Relations, Innovation and Simplification.<\/p>\n

In 2012 he was appointed Counsellor for Emigration and Social Affairs at the Embassy of Italy in Brasilia.<\/p>\n

In 2016 he was appointed Ambassador to Paraguay.<\/p>\n

In 2020 he returned to the Ministry to serve as Chief of Staff of the Undersecretary of State.<\/p>\n

In 2021 he was appointed as Head of the External Relations Unit of the Directorate General for the European Union.<\/p>\n

In 2022 he served as Head of the International Relations Department of the City of Rome.<\/p>\n

Since 10 January 2025 he serves as Ambassador to Mozambique, Botswana and Eswatini<\/p>\n
