The Tax Code or Codice Fiscale, which is the identification tool in relations with Italian public bodies and administrations, is issued by the Inland Revenue (Agenzia delle Entrate). It can also be issued to non-Italian citizens.
Foreign citizens and compatriots residing in Eswatini and Mozambique can apply for a tax code through the Consular Office of the Embassy, by filling in the appropriate form (Attribuzione Codice Fiscale) available on this page. Applications can be summitted either in person at the Consular Office of the Embassy or by e-mail by writing to consolare.maputo@esteri.it (in this case a copy of an identity document should be attached).
It is possible to request a duplicate of the tax code from the Agenzia delle Entrate website.
