Political cooperation

Political cooperation

Bilateral political relations have been characterized, in recent years, by an intensification of visits and high-level meetings, which give the sign of the current phase of relaunching the traditional relations of friendship and collaboration between Italy and Mozambique. In this context, in particular, the mission to Maputo on 18 and 19 July 2014 of the Prime Minister Matteo Renzi, the first ever of an Italian Prime Minister, reciprocated, at the end of his mandate, in December 2014, by the President Armando Guebuza.

From 8 to 10 July 2019 the President of the Republic of Mozambique, Felipe Jacinto Nyusi, went to Italy on an official visit, accompanied, among others, by the Minister of Foreign Affairs Josè Condugua Antonio Pacheco, the Minister of Energy and Resources, Ernesto Max Tonela and the Deputy Minister for Agriculture, Luisa Caetano Meque; Nyusi had talks with the Prime Minister Conte and with President Mattarella.

The Government of the Republic of Mozambique is composed of the Council of Ministers (President, Prime Minister and Ministers). Useful addresses are available on the Mozambique Government Portal.
